Our cottage is
named Twin Pines and is a side by side duplex.
This means there are 2 facilities available for
you, "Lefty" and "Righty".
"Lefty" has three bedrooms (sleeps 6)
and "Righty" has one bedroom (sleeps
4). The cottage is cheerful and well equipped.
The furniture is comfortable and electric heat
will keep the chill away. We have an enclosed
porch that runs the entire length of the cottage,
allowing you to enjoy a great view of the lake.
The cottage is a housekeeping unit, rented by the
week, Friday to Friday during our season.
(Memorial Day to Labor Day) Weekends are
available in the off season. This is a wonderful
place to enjoy your visit to the Cooperstown
area. We supply all bed linens, towels, and
kitchen supplies. We do ask that you bring your
own beach towels. There is a picnic table and gas
grill.
Our property ran as a resort for over 60 years.
In 1984 a group of friends purchased the property
as an association. As a group we own 12 acres of
land, 650 feet of lake frontage. We have a NYS
approved swimming beach, (no lifeguard) with a
diving board and a raft to swim to. Our shoreline
is gradual, so it is great for the small fry. We
bring in sand each year, but the bottom is
gravel, so we recommend that children use
swimmies. We have a fire pit at the beachfront
where everyone can gather for a campfire. The
wood is provided. Hyde Bay Colony is a family
destination. We are looking for families that
enjoy swimming, fishing, canoeing, kayaking,
shuffle board, singing at the fire, and each
other. You may bring your canoe or kayak or rent
one in the area.
We rent from Friday to Friday. We ask for a $500
deposit to make a reservation and the remainder
is due 6 weeks before arrival. Before and after
our regular season we do rent the cottage with a
2 night minimum stay required, rate dependent
upon the number of guests.
Twin Pines is located in The Hyde Bay Colony,
which is 6 miles from the Village of Cooperstown,
on County Route 31. The sunsets are spectacular!
